Veterans Elementary Kids Care Club
We are a fun group consisting of 5th grade students at Veterans Elementary in Wesley Chapel, FL. Our kids work hard each day to grow academically and come to Club every week to provide service to our community
Join Us For a Day of ServiceImagine a day when thousands of families around the world come together in the spirit of caring and togetherness. For 25 years, this vision has become a reality during the month of November on Family Volunteer Day! This year we are proud to announce that our Veterans Elementary Kids Care Club will be hosting a Park Cleanup at our local Wesley Chapel District Park. So many of our kids use the facilities and fields for their enjoyment all year and this is the perfect way for them to contribute back to their community. It's also a great opportunity for students that need to complete service hours for their school or clubs. Please note that all children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Facilitated by generationOn and Disney Friends for Change and created to celebrate the positive impact we can all have in our neighborhoods, communities and throughout the world, Family Volunteer Day is traditionally held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday season of giving and service. Anyone can join us this year! We hope to see you then. RSVP if you can so we can plan accordingly but it's not necessary. If you decide last minute we'd love to have you. When: 5:00 -7:00pm Saturday Nov. 19th
Where: Wesley Chapel District Park 7727 Boyette Rd. Wesley Chapel FL 33545 Best advice is to please enter the park at the Overpass Rd entrance and at the stop sign proceed straight. We will have reserved parking for our event in the grass. Find our blue tent in the open grass behind the main pavilion past the playground. You can check in and we'll provide gloves and bags to collect trash from the fields. If you have any questions please email us at: [email protected] or message us from Facebook.com/VeteransKCC |

This year we are proud to announce that our Veterans Elementary Kids Care Club and Garden Club participated in this global day of service, which took place on Saturday, November 21st.
Facilitated by generationOn and Disney Friends for Change and created to celebrate the positive impact we can all have in our neighborhoods, communities and throughout the world, Family Volunteer Day is traditionally held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday season of giving and service. Both Clubs worked throughout the morning on creating a new edible and teaching garden in the center of the courtyard. Teachers can use the area to instruct children in science education. The day was also spent creating garden signs, cleaning up litter all around campus, making cards for Wounded Warriors Project and finally decorating an Angel Tree Pasco County Foster/Adoptive Parent Association. A big thank you toall the families that participated and the following groups and individuals:

I am so proud to announce that our little club was able to make the GenerationOn list of the 'Most Active Kids Care Club of 2014-2015'. We had 17 documented service projects and I know that so much went into each of those every week. It was an amazing year and I hope that each student not only in the Club but at the school were inspired to take simple steps throughout their lives to help make a difference in the world they live in. Not every project needed a grand plan and that's what I wanted them to understand. Sometimes the biggest impact can be made just by helping the person next to you with a small task or uplifting compliment. Or that gathering a few people together with an idea can create such results that affect so many.
Thank you to all the kids at Veterans Elementary that made a mark on the world. |
As we begin 2015 I want to take a moment to reflect on our accomplishments during November and December of 2014. It was an exciting couple of months filled with food drives, pajama & book collections, Joy Making and Angel Tree giving. The students were not only motivated to help out our community through the holidays but they helped inspire others throughout the entire school. Combining all our efforts and each student that participated we managed to create over 800 actions of good will and joy. I can't think of a better way to spend the holidays and I couldn't be more proud of all we learned. Children in schools here in Pasco County were given beautifully wrapped gifts before Christmas. There were over 119 pairs of new pajamas and 134 books gathered for children living in shelters and temporary housing facilities around the Tampa Bay area for the National Pajama Program. And so many of our families spent their time shopping for Christmas gifts for children in foster & adoptive families here in Pasco. My wish is that everyone involved felt loved and felt the joy of spreading joy to their community. Bringing a sense of how fortunate we all are to be part of this amazing school and growing town of Wesley Chapel. Thank you to every family that participated and showed their children what it means to give.
